#234: The Expedition

Salaam/Regards,

"In the current of modernization, men's morality is now suffocating"

LIFE IS AN EXPEDITION

I someone ask you, "What is life?"
What would be your response?  "Life is great?"
Or will it be, "Life is like an opera show?"

My answer: Life is an expedition. Why??
Because like expedition, life requires supply and provisions to make it more successful. Life isn't just about the product of our present act, because if it is like that, then my history will indisputably not my life. Its a great explanation, yet lack the logic.

Expedition practically means journey. It may take days or even years to complete a particular journey. Mostly, expedition  has many sojourns and one of those sojourns may be our final destination. As long as we did not reach our goals or none in the way stops us, then the expedition SHOULD NOT hold on. Life must go on.

The same thing goes to our life, which is our greatest expedition. None in this life could ever match the influence of the way we see life, more than the non-petty things we did for our next life.

BE A GREAT ADVENTURER

Adventurer isn't supposedly a man with muscles made of iron. He can also be a simple, typical guy with thinness of such like me. All that we need is the heart of steel, because the things that we are yet to encounter give more pain to our heart than to our body. Remember, life is mostly a spiritual journey.
The first Golden Rule to be a great adventurer is to always reflect. Try to introspect yourself,

"After walking some length, what had I learn/get?".

You will soon found out that the value of life, the value of your journey counts so much. It will motivate you to walking faster, energize you with a kind of spirit that shall shine others. This is the the true, great adventurer. They aren't only getting there to their aim, but help others to go there. By this principle, Prophet Muhammad SAW and Prophet Jesus PBUH are enough proofs.

The second Golden Rule of becoming a splendid traveler is to give effects. A wonderful traveler always emanates goodness and charisma from deep within to the outer community. He will contribute anything that he could afford of, along the journey. The sojourns where he stop will miss his return, everyone would talk about him after he left.

The same thing applies in life. Try to contribute something that may change someone's life towards a better life. A penny would do, as long as we try. I tell you, a donation may change a bit of you, but gives out large effect to those whom need it.

Third Golden Rule; be humble for what you are. Being rich, high-standard, beautiful and handsome is not the ticket to escape men's daily dilemma. By this definition, you are no more superior than others. You just have to act like human the very same way I act like one.

Some people thought much of doing good things might turn the society's intention to you and thus, make you as prideful and arrogant. They say it is the basic of human's nature to develop a sense of pride when doing something good. Uhm--there's an athar which is from Saidina Ali's tongue that states;

"Those whom not doing good things because they afraid of being famous and riya', has already turned riya'."

It can simply being comprehend as to saying that a man whom doing nothing good to protect himself from being prideful has already become prideful. It can be solved by doing the following;
Believe that the goodness you do is your obligation and believe that you are on the right way, so you wouldn't be easily affected by others.

CONCLUSION

Be great. Let us make full use of our time along our lifetime. This journey will only come once.

Try a different perspective for a certain scenario. Possibilities always lurk between.
